Colorado’s DFS laws have a few unique provisions. DFS operators with less than 7,500 users don’t need to apply for a license. They still must register with the state.

Industry leaders FanDuel and DraftKings far surpass that number of users in Colorado. The state, therefore, required them to apply for licenses through the Division of Professions and Occupations.

Colorado is one of 21 states to regulate DFS, although FanDuel, DraftKings, and other DFS operators operate in numerous other states without legal DFS regulations in place.
